One day workshop on Chemical Engineering - Journey Ahead

On 24th February, Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE), Amaravati Regional Centre in association with Chemical Engineering Dept. of RGUKT Nuzvid organized a one day workshop on "Chemical Engineering - Journey Ahead". The workshop is conducted to expose the PUC2 students on the increasing opportunities in the fields of Chemical Engineering.

IIChE is started in 1947 with Head Office at Jadavpur. IIChE-Amaravati Regional Centre (ARC) is the budding centre and one of the best of the 41 regional centers. IIChE-ARC is organizing student chapters to give more information about Chemical Engineering opportunities and to provide interaction with the industrial experts. This is the 3rd chapter at RGUKT Nuzvid.

Various industry experts from esteemed institutions have participated in the workshop and gave talks that immensely motivated the students towards pursuing a career in Chemical Engineering.

Prof. S.V. Satyanarayana, JNTU Ananthapur, President IIChE, explained the growing opportunities food, pharma, oil & gas industries.

Dr. N V Chowdary, Scientist, HPCL Bangalore discussed about the opportunities at petrolium industries for the chemical engineers.

Sri G. Venubabu, Head of Technical Services, Hetero Labs explained the opportunities increasing in large quantities in the pharma sector.

Prof. G. Govardhana Rao, Professor IIT Bombay, Chairman IIChE-ARC, Dr. M. Venkateswara Rao, Honourary Secretary and life member, IIChE-ARC, T. SUnil Bhagat, A.O., RGUKT Nuzvid, M. Rama Krishna, HoD, Chemical Engg., PRO and faculty members of the department have participated.

Technical events, paper presentations and quiz are organized in the workshop. Students from NIT-AP, RVR&JC, Vignan Colleges have also participated.
